Becoming involved through faith

Thursday in Denver, the Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Methodist Church hosted a lunch for Nothing But Nets. 100 leaders of faith learned about the issue of malaria and how they might be involved in this global fight!  Speakers included Bishop Warner Brown, ExxonMobil leader Dr. Ken Lindemann and national spokesperson Bishop Thomas Bickerton. The Rocky Mountain Conference has a special relationship with Angola and has hosted leaders from UMC Angola in Denver.

Lunch participants were particularly interested in the relationship between HIV/AIDS and malaria.   Individuals living with HIV are extremely vulnerable to dying of malaria.
Special guests from the American Jewish Association closed the meeting with a commitment to send nets and save lives!
