Nothing But Nets Buzz Tour

After spreading the buzz about the movement to end malaria deaths to dozens of cities and thousands of supporters, we've parked the Buzz Tour bus for the year. Thanks to all who joined us - we hope to see you again soon!

We’re hitting the road! That’s right – Nothing But Nets is rolling into towns all across the country in our sustainable Buzz Tour – a converted school bus fueled on waste vegetable oil and outfitted with solar panels – to fire up our supporters from Major League Soccer fans to students and community leaders.

Wanna know more about the Buzz Tour stops? Click here for a detailed schedule.

Why did we pick these cities? We are teaming up with MLS W.O.R.K.S. to invite players, clubs and fans to join the movement to end malaria deaths in Africa in the lead up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. We are united against malaria.

Want to invite the Buzz Tour to your town? Email us about what you are doing to unite against malaria and we will do our best to get to your town along the route.

Check out our photos from the Buzz Tour on Flickr. You can also follow us on Twitter @BuzzTour, and check back on this page (look to the right!) to see our live Twitter feed straight from the bus!

And, keep coming back here for blogs from our team as they make stops on the Buzz Tour route and along the way!

Upbeat During Downpours in Denver

With the Boy Scouts, Concerts, and the Colorado Rapids, we had a great time in the mile-high city. Though three days of straight rain had us feeling like we were back in Seattle, we kept on trucking—and on the one day the sun came out, so did the camera crews! Here's a clip of Mozzie and crew on the evening news!

Six months, millions uniting against malaria

It's only July and we've accomplished so much already in 2010. World Cup ends in just a few days, so we wanted to share some highlights from our United Against Malaria partnership, the Buzz Tour, and of course, the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

  • More than 27,000 supporters signed soccer balls, petitions and messages to show they are United Against Malaria, and are committed to end malaria deaths by 2015.

Seattle Supporters Build the Buzz--no coffee required

Last week, the Buzz Tour rolled into Seattle.  We had so much fun running around to visit our partners and supporters that we were, well, sleepless. We had a blast with the "Buzz Drivers" at The Bush School, formed even more friendships at the Gates Foundation, and celebrated saving lives with the Sounders FC.

For years, the Seattle Sounders and their wonderful fans have been strong supporters of Nothing But Nets. This year, they invited Mozzie to join their famous "March to the Match," a huge fan parade which ends at Qwest Field, home of the Sounders. Here's a hysterical video of Mozzie boogieing with the marching band!
