After a 3-year study of trends and future projections for the factors and determinants of malaria, WHO's Strategic Advisory Group on Malaria Eradication (SAGme) released the executive summary of its report. In summary, SAGme reaffirms that eradication is a goal worth pursuing and would save millions of lives and billions of dollars but cautions that we are far from a malaria-free world.

In just over a year, Mosquito Joe and its 145+ independently-owned franchises have raised close to $50,000 in donations for Nothing But Nets! These funds have sent over 5,000 bed nets to malaria-endemic regions in Africa, South America, and the Caribbean; protecting over 10,000 people from the disease. Mosquito Joe drives its fundraising and awareness-raising efforts through two separate campaigns, MoJo Bites Back and Beat the Bloodsuckers.

World Refugee Day: Meet Achol

Our team met Achol while visiting the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya, located on a searing, inhospitable patch of land near the border with South Sudan. Achol was standing in line with her children at a new-arrivals area to receive food, water, medicine, and bed nets. A week earlier, her husband was killed in the country’s ongoing civil war.
